CURTORIM: Corjem SC got the better of Novowado SC 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the Curtorim inter-ward 2nd 9-a-side football tournament organised by Cumborda SC of Curtorim at Curtorim ground, on Thursday.
At half time, Corjem SC were leading 1-0. Novowado SC started their game with fast pace with midfielders Milagres, Britto and forward Myson Fernandes combining well but couldn’t find the net. In the 18th minute, Gilbert came with a brilliant cross from flank and Shubert made no mistake to send it home.
Cross over, Myson equalised for Novowado in the last minute.
In the tie-breaker, John, Rade, Austin, Shubert and Rui scored for Corjem SC while Agnelo, Milagres, Sebastiao and John netted for Novowado SC. Maison of Novowado SC bagged the man-of-the-match award.
