NAVELIM: Corps of Signals demolished Panchawadi United Sports Club 7-0 in the GFA 1st Division League match played at 3MTR ground, Navelim, on Sunday.
Corps of Signals were leading 1-0 in the first half.
Four goals from Ajay in the 36th, 59th, 83rd and 89th minutes steal the limelight.
Panchawadi United SC missed two good chances in the first half. Agnelo Colaco hit the upright of Corps of Signals in the very 5th minute and the threat posed by Patxon Gomes too didn’t yield any result as he shot wide in the 21st minute.
Ajay of Corps of Signals surprisingly broke the deadlock in the 36th minute by neatly placing the ball into the rival goal.
Corps of Signals could have doubled the lead within five minutes but Roshan Singh shot ballooned over the cross piece of Panchawadi United SC.
Crossing over, the equalizer never came in for Panchawadi United SC and Corps of Signals pumped in six more goals.
As the match progressed, Corps of Signals upped their pace. Ajay scored his brace in the 59th minute. L Nakul completed his brace by netting in the 67th and 77th minutes.
Ajay in the 83rd minute made it 5-0 to score a hat-trick. In the 86th minute, L.R.Sangha got his name on the score sheet with a powerful strike which was too hot to handle for the Panchawadi United SC goalkeeper. Ajay completed the rout in the 89th minute.
