SAO JOSE DE AREAL: Cortalim Villagers defeated Navelim SC 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into of the final of 35th Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup football tournament organized by Sao Jose de Areal boys at Padribhatt ground, on Saturday.
At the end of regulation time, both the teams were locked in a 1-1 draw.
Joseph Vaz opened the account for Cortalim Villagers with a placement shot in the 16th minute while Clinton Niasso equalised off a free kick for Navelim Sports Club in the 40th minute.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Royston Vaz, Edrich Silva, Elvis Pereira and Joseph Vaz were on target for Cortalim villagers while Navelim SC netted with the efforts of Aulon Gomes, Micky Colaco and Mobin Gomes.
