VASCO: Cortalim Villagers Sports and Welfare Association scored a thrilling 3-2 win over Varca Sports Club in the Goa Football Association Second Division League match played at Cansaulim ground, on Thursday.
Starting the game brightly, Cortalim took the lead in the 26th minute through Wasin Inamdar from the spot after the rival defender conceded a foul in the area. Varca’s M Shaikh was sent off with a direct red. However, Varca after constantly raiding their opponents managed to draw level in the 45th minute through Robinson Colaco as the teams were tied 1-1 at the breather.
In the second half, Cortalim Villagers took control of the game and outplayed their opponents in all departments of the game and scored two more goals through Clinton Fernandes and Sunny Colaco to make it 3-0.
However, in the dying minutes of the game, L Mandonca managed to pull a goal back for the losing side.
