MAPUSA: A total of 18 schools from Pernem were provided with cricket kits for U-14 and U-16 cricket Goa Cricket Association tournaments at a function held at Bhagwati High School, Pernem.
Speaking at the function, Secretary of Goa Cricket Association Vinod Phadke discussed the idea about forming GCA coaching centres across the State.
“GCA wants develop cricket starting from the grass root level. The cricket kits which are given to school should be utilised properly so that one day the boys will play for Goa,” said Phadke.
MLA and Chairman of Tourism Development Cooperation Dayanand Sopte who was also present for the function, assured help will always be there for the needy players. He also instructed the coaches to give proper training to the children.
