MAPUSA/RAIA: Clube Sao Minguel de Taleigao managed to hold A A de Moira SC in a goalless draw in the GFA’s Division I League match played at Parra ground, on Friday.
CSM Taleigao colts had better ball possession and attacked at the rival goal in the first session but A A de Moira SC’s custodian Moin Mansuri brought some brilliant saves to deny Niyaz Tambak, Ayush Mardolkar and Harshad Madkaikar from scoring.
On crossing ends, once again A A de Moira SC’s goalkeeper managed to sway the ball over the crossbar off a rasping strike by Harshad.
However, as the match progressed, A A de Moira SC came with two good attempts at the rival goal but this time CSM Taleigao’s custodian Tanesh Kankonkar denied Imam Sab Guldegudo, Shivnath Dangui from scoring. In the last five minutes of the regulation time, both teams almost scored their winning goal.
Harshad was thwarted by A A de Moira SC’s goalkeeper in one to one situation, while at the other end CSM Taleigao’s stopper back Selvino Gonsalves brought a brilliant goalline clearance to deny Shivnath lob over the onrushing CSM Taleigao’s custodian entering the goal.
At Poriat ground, Albert Developers trounced Goa Velha SC by 4-0 margin. Albert Developers dictated terms and scored two goals in each session of play.
In the 20th minute, a defence pass saw Ranjit Tete scoring by beating the Goa Velha SC goalkeeper.
Fifteen minutes later, Albert Developers doubled their lead, where Saidath curling corner saw Saish flick the ball to Ranjit, who headed the ball into the far corner of the goal, to net his brace, 2-0.
On crossing over, Goa Velha SC did exert pressure but Albert Developers defence stood strong through Paulo and Jude.
Ranjit completed his hat-trick as he controlled a cross from Shankar and scored 3-0. Skipper Rajat added his name to the scorers list by scoring with brilliant solo effort, 4-0.
Dempo SC (Jrs) downed Mandopa SC 2-0 in the GFA’s Division I League match played at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Friday. Cristiano Gomes and Macnelle Dias netted a goal each for Dempo SC.
In another match played at Cansaulim Sports Complex ground, Goa Police drubbed Nuvem SC 5-0.
Leading by 2-0 at the breather, Goa Police scored through a brace from Sunny Fernandes, while Nakul Gawas, Mayuresh Naik and Deepak Naik scored a goal each.
