CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim Union defeated Ambelim SC 3-1 to enter into the quarter-finals of the Fr Basilio Andrade Memorial football tournament played at Musson ground, Majorda, on Saturday.
Cuncolim Union displayed an attacking brand of football and played with brilliant ball possession and showed accurate passing skills. In the well contested match Perryson and Samson led the attack for Ambelim SC while Clifton and Frazer displayed their brilliant prowess for Cuncolim.
They went full in into the rival citadel trying to get the first goal of the match.
The deadlock was finally broken after the persistent efforts of the Cuncolim side.
It was Clifton Fernandes who scored the first followed by Marion Fernandes and Wellington D’souza.
Stavlon Cardozo later reduced the margin for the Ambelim side.
