CURCHOREM: Cuncolim United Higher Secondary School and St Alex Higher Secondary School, Curtorim entered the finals of Zone IV Higher Secondary School Football boys tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Sheldem Panchayat ground, on Wednesday.
Damodar became aggressive when Cuncolim opened their account through the powerful shot from Steven Fernandes but could not neutralize the score due to strong defence.
In second semi-final St Alex HSS, Curtorim defeated Guardian Angel HSS, Curchorem1-0. Both the teams started the match on a slow pace with play restricted to midfield.
Crossing ends, in the 50th minute, Araujo Cayven scored for Curtorim. Guardian Angel boys were let down by their strikers who wasted a couple of chances of scoring including a penalty shot which was awarded to them at the end of the match.
The final will be played on September 30, at Panchayat ground, Sheldem.
