NAVELIM: Curtorim Gymkhana downed Betalbatim SC 3-1 to move into the quarter- finals of the 38th Gold Silver trophy tournament, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Tuesday.
Curtorim netted the first goal in the 13th minute through Josley Gomes’ power-packed shot which landed safely into Betalbatim net.
It was Curtorim’s goal scoring-machine Milagres Fernandes who took a curling long range shot which curled into Betalbatim nylons in the 36th minute.
In the second half, Betalbatim netted through Ronaldo Coelho’s snap shot in the 48th minute to make it 1-2.
It was Curtorim’s Josley Gomes who completed his brace and made it 3-1 for Curtorim with an arrow bound shot in the 63rd minute.
Curtorim Gymkhana will now meet SC Davorlim in the quarter-finals on September 23.
