MARGAO: Strong contenders Curtorim Gymkhana scored a comfortable 3-1 victory over CAC Cansaulim to ease into the semi-finals of V Deluxe Lourdes Festival Cup, organised by United Club of Utorda at SAG ground, Utorda.
The winners led 3-0 at the breather.
Valzinho Fernandes opened the account for Curtorim in the 11th minute with a fine goal. Mario Macarenhas added two goals, the second after dancing past the keeper, in the space of five minutes to knock the wind out of the Cansaulim sails.
Cansaulim did try to fight back but the Curtorim defence was rock solid. However, the perseverance of the Cansaulim boys paid off when they managed to pull one back in the 20th minute of the second half from the boots of their ebullient striker Jowel Baretto.
