PANJIM: Curtorim Gymkhana beat Velsao Sports and Cultural Club 3-0 in the GENO First Division League organised by Goa Football Association (GFA), played at Ambelim ground, on Friday.
Milagres Fernandes opened the scoring for the winners in the 17th minute with a neat finish into the post. The teams played a midfield game in the later half of the second session as both teams kept fighting to move forward but failed to convert through the attempts created.
On resumption, Cliff Barretto doubled the teams lead with a goal in the 52nd minute. Surat Naik made it 3-0 in favour of the Curtorim side who stole the game from a tough Velsao opposition.
At Artificial Turf, Fatorda, Goa Police SC handed over Goa Velha SC their 7th consecutive defeat by winning 2-0. Abdul Khan gave the Police side the lead in the 19th minute as the lone goal separated both teams at half time.
Hemant Kholker added another late goal in the 79th minute as the Goa Police SC won their third game in this league and as for the Goa Velha team they are yet to get to winning terms.
In another game played at Sirsaim ground, St. Savio SC overcame an easy Holy Cross SC Arambol side 2-0. Sanet Jotkar and Vipul Pednekar scored for the winners.
