FC Goa get the better of Churchill Bros

NAGOA: FC Goa got the better of Churchill Brothers SC 5-1 in the U-18 AIFF match played at Nagoa, Verna ground, on Friday.

NAGOA: FC Goa got the better of Churchill Brothers SC 5-1 in the U-18 AIFF match played at Nagoa, Verna ground, on Friday. 
In the 4th minute, Churchill defender Shivam Badave should have netted but the latter’s power drive shot hit the FC Goa post and went out of play.  FC Goa striker Joybert Almeida’s shot flew above the Churchill cross bar by inches in the 19th minute. 
Minutes later, a free kick was the best scoring opportunity for FC Goa’s Lalwmpuia but the striker missed the rival target by a whisker. 
Again FC Goa through Lalawmpuia and Joybert Rinaldo Almeda foxed Prathamesh Satyawan and Atif Mujawar from the defence line. They on both occasions shot wide in the 26th and 29th minute. 
It was Vincy Barreto’s shot which opened the account for FC Goa with a placement shot in the 33rd minute.
 As the match progressed to the second half, FC Goa through Doyal Alves missed a chance to score as the latter’s shot missed the target by a whisker in the 47th minute. 
After that FC Goa went all guns blazing at Churchill by netting two quick goals which came from a header of Joybert Rinaldo Almeda in the 60th minute while Shelford Fernandes made it 3-0 in 61st minute . Joybert Rinaldo Almeda scored the  4th goal in the 66th minute.
FC Goa further inflated their tally to 5-0 in the 73rd minute through Lalawmpuia. 
As the match was coming to a close, less attention on the ball by FC Goa keeper Antonio Silva cost them a goal as Churchill netted  through midfielder Hasrshal Redekar in the 87th minute.
