Union Health Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader JP Nadda was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi after experiencing uneasiness. The hospital said on Friday that Nadda underwent medical tests, including a coronary angiography, following his admission.
AIIMS said Nadda’s condition is currently stable and that he has been kept under observation in the cardiology department.
Nadda Admitted on Thursday
According to a statement issued by AIIMS, Nadda was evaluated after experiencing uneasiness and underwent a series of tests on Thursday evening, August 13.
The medical evaluation included a coronary angiography, a diagnostic procedure used to examine the arteries supplying blood to the heart. Doctors use the procedure to check for possible narrowing or blockages in the coronary arteries.
The hospital did not provide further details about the findings of the angiography.
Condition Remains Stable
AIIMS said Nadda is stable and continues to remain under observation in the Department of Cardiology.
The hospital’s statement was issued on Friday amid concerns over the Union minister’s health. However, there has been no indication from AIIMS of any immediate medical emergency.
Nadda will remain under the supervision of doctors while his condition is monitored and his medical assessment continues.
What Is Coronary Angiography?
Coronary angiography is a commonly used diagnostic test that allows doctors to examine the blood vessels supplying the heart. It can help identify blockages or narrowing in the coronary arteries.
During the procedure, medical imaging is used to assess blood flow through the arteries. Doctors may recommend the test when a patient reports symptoms or when further evaluation of heart health is considered necessary.
In Nadda’s case, the procedure was part of the tests conducted after he complained of uneasiness.
Nadda Continues to Be Under Observation
The latest update from AIIMS confirms that Nadda remains stable but has not yet been discharged from the hospital.
As Union Health Minister, Nadda is responsible for the central government’s health portfolio and is also a prominent BJP leader. His hospitalisation has therefore attracted considerable attention.
At present, the hospital has not announced how long Nadda is expected to remain admitted. Any decision regarding his discharge will depend on the assessment of his treating doctors.
Latest Health Update
As of August 14, JP Nadda remains admitted at AIIMS Delhi for observation in the cardiology department. He underwent coronary angiography on the evening of August 13 after experiencing uneasiness.
AIIMS has described his condition as stable. Further information regarding his medical reports, treatment or discharge is expected to be provided by the hospital or Nadda’s office when available.
