Churchill Brothers will make their return to the Indian Super League (ISL) in the 2026–27 season, marking a significant comeback for one of Goa’s most established football clubs.
The Goan outfit has been away from India’s top division for 14 years but has now regained its place in the national top tier following Tata Steel’s transfer of Jamshedpur FC’s sporting licence, along with its players and coaching staff.

The return marks a new chapter for Churchill Brothers, who have played an important role in Goa’s football history and have previously competed at the highest level of Indian football.
The club expressed its gratitude to the All India Football Federation (AIFF), Tata Steel and Jamshedpur FC for their role in facilitating the move.
Churchill Brothers also acknowledged the efforts of club president Churchill Alemao and CEO Valanka Alemao, whose leadership and commitment have helped pave the way for the club’s return to the ISL.
The comeback is expected to generate considerable excitement among football fans in Goa, with Churchill Brothers once again preparing to compete against the country’s top clubs.
