PANJIM: Curtorim Gymkhana made sure of their semi-final spot with a fluent 3-0 victory over a fighting PVC Parra in the Quadros Suzuki football trophy, at Goa Velha, on Thursday.
Parra began brightly with Rohan Pinto shooting at goal after Brian did the spadework for him but his shot was blocked by Savio.
Casmiro scored early for Curtorim as he curled the ball brilliantly into the left of the goal giving Parra keeper, Clinton no chance.
Curtorim again were in action as Nelson hoodwinked Parra defender Vasant and put Welson in the clear but the forward muffed the chance, shooting over from close.
Casmiro made it 2-0 after receiving a pass from Valzino and smashing it past a helpless keeper Clinton. Sertorio then punished the slack Parra defence with a clinical finish after a solo run down the middle.
The teams crossed over with Curtorim leading 3-0.
Parra came back strongly, Joaquim Pacheco after being put through by Allwyn shot straight into the hands of Curtorim keeper Custodio. Savio Vaz also fluffed an opportunity as his shot sailed over.
Having a three goal cushion, Curtorim preferred to play fancy football.
