MARGAO: Curtorim Gymkhana outplayed Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club 2-0 to cruise into the semi final of the All Goa 40th Chandor Seamen Trophy inter village football tournament organized by Chandor Club at Chandor ground.

Curtorim held the upper hand in the first session of play. Their persistent forays bore fruit in the 15th minute when striker Roy Alburquerque slotted the ball past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.

Spurred by the early success, Curtorim Gymkhana intensified their attacks but wayward shooting of their strikers prevented them from increasing the tally.

Curtorim Gymkhana continued to dictate terms and enjoyed a lion share of exchanges, doubling their lead when Marcus Peixiot beat the rival goalkeeper with rasping shot. Stunned by the double blows, Sao Jose de Areal tried to regain ground but failed to get past the rival rearguard. Sao Jose de Areal suffered a major blow when their player Allister Moura was evicted from play with a red by the referee, for violent conduct.
