RAIA: Calangute Association downed promising team Churchill Brothers 2-0 to collect three points in the GFA’s Goa Professional League match played at Nagoa panchayat ground, on Friday. Calangute Association were on the attacking mode from the word go but Churchill Brothers were equally to the task to finish the first half 0-0 draw.
Crossing over, Calangute Association soon took the lead through the efforts of Dalwin Coelho in the 47th minute. Substitute Kritikesh Gadekar doubled the lead in the 78th minute.
At Dempo Academy ground, Ella Old Goa, Dempo SC and FC Goa played out a goalless draw in a match which saw both teams being reduced to 10 players.
Dempo SC’s Sairon Albuerqueque received the marching orders in the first half, while FC Goa’s Leewan Castanha late in the game.
