PANJIM: Damodar English High School, Guddi, and Government High School, Keri, Sattari, won the U-17 Inter-School 6-a-side hockey tournament boys and girls titles respectively.
In the event organised by Young Sports, and played at the Peddem Sports Complex, Damodar English got the better of Fr Agnel, Pilar, 1-0, Pankaj was the scorer.
In the semi-finals, Damodar beat Janata H S ‘A’, Mapusa, 1- 0. In the second semi-final, Pilar got the better of Janata ‘B’ 2-1.
Government HS, Keri, trounced St Anthony HS, Monte de Guirim, 4-0, in the final. Gautami (2), Saloni and Amita scored.
Individual prizes: Best goalkeeper: Girls: Megha (Keri). Boys: Nilesh (Janata). Best defender: Girls: Clarisa (Guirim). Boys: Tanmay (Pilar). Promising players: Girls: Saloni (Keri). Boys: Kusal (Guddi). Best disciplined team: Fr Agnel Central School, Pilar (girls team).
