Damodar HSS bag U-19 taekwondo championship

MARGAO: Damodar Higher Secondary School, Gudi-Paroda bagged the South Goa District title in under-19 boys inter-school higher secondary taekwondo championship organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at SAG multipurpose indoor hall, Fatorda, here, recently.

Damodar bagged one gold, three silver and six bronze medals. 
The team was coached by Jaikrishna Desai and Vivekanand Tambi.  
MES Higher Secondary School, Zuarinagar were the runners-up while St Andrew Higher Secondary School, Vasco bagged the third place position. 
In the girls section, Damodar Higher Secondary School were the runners-up with one silver and three bronze medals.
Following are the medal winners:  Boys — Below 40 kg: Nitinkumar Kavi (silver), Matin Shashu (bronze). Below 50 kg: Arshad Khan (bronze). Below 54 kg: Mohammad Rafiq (silver). Below 58 kg: Jamant Singh (bronze).
 Below 62 kg: Sandesh Tereza and Rajesh Shetti (bronze). Below 66 kg: Ganesh Jadhav (bronze). Below 70 kg: Cyrus Fernandes (gold), Vishnu Rasur (silver).
Girls — Below 40 kg: Nital Naik. Below 46 kg: Reina Fernandes. Below 50 kg: Asleena Monteiro (bronze). Below 58 kg:  Bharati Prasad (silver).
