Churchill raced into the lead in the 12th minute when a long volley was punted forward for striker Daryl Costa, who managed to keep his composure to send the ball past the rival custodian.
Midway Sporting Clube found the equaliser after Jonathan Cardozo shot home a stiff grounder from the penalty spot.
From the restart, Churchill went on the attack and managed to win a free kick. A high ball was hoisted goal bound which flew over the goalkeeper’s head and luckily bounced back off the post for Aldrich Coelho to tap into an empty net from close to restore lead.
In the closing stages, Sporting Clube were reduced to 10-man after Joaquim Cardozo was flashed a red card for unsporting behaviour.
Despite a formidable fight back from the Flaming Oranje Juniors, Churchill managed to grab the three points.
