PANJIM: Datta Kambli, Luke Leon Mendonca and Om Barde clinched the top honours in under-16, under-13 and under-10 categories respectively, in Rotary Childrens chess festival organized by Rotary Club of Margao Midtown in association with BPS Sports Club and Unique Chess Academy, BPS Sports Club, Pavillion arena, recently.
The tournament was played in swiss league system and the top three players were awarded cash prizes and trophies. All other winners were rewarded with trophies and certificates.
The top three in each category were as foolows.
Under-10: 1st Om Barde, 2nd Sahil Desai, 3rd Luke Leon Mendonca. U-13: 1st Luke Leon Mendonca, 2nd Om Barde, 3rd Anirudh Panvelkar. U-16: 1st Datta Kambli, 2nd Aishwarya Thorat and 3rd Anis Prabhudesai.
