CHINCHINIM: Davodem Veterans edged past Carmona Veterans 6-5 via the tie-breaker and moved into the semi-finals of the 1st all Goa veterans football tournament, organised by Sucaldem Youth Club and played at SYC ground on Friday.
The teams started on equal terms but it was Carmona who broke the deadlock through Charles Rodriguez, who scored with a deft placement. Herculano provided the assist.
In the second half, Davodem fought gallantly and restored parity when Francisco Colaco assisted Seby Vaz in the 47th minute.
Neither side were able to find the match-winner till the end of the regulation time. In the tie-breaker, Davodem proved to be better shooters. Davodem will play against the winners of Chinchinim and Candolim in the semi-finals.
