MARGAO: Sporting Club of Davorlim blanked St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim 2-1 to cruise into the quarter-finals of South Goa Zilla Parishad Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Parish Youth, at church ground, Nuvem on Thursday.

MARGAO: Sporting Club of Davorlim blanked St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim 2-1 to cruise into the quarter-finals of South Goa Zilla Parishad Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Parish Youth, at church ground, Nuvem on Thursday. 
Davorlim led 2-0 at the breather. Davorlim dominated the game right from the word go and never allowed their opponents to struck the rhythm. Their breakthrough came in the 16th minute when Malcolm Colaco bulge the net. The early goal boosted the morale of Davorlim players as they mounted tremendous pressure on the rival citadel and increase the tally in the 20th minute when Paxton Gomes placed the ball to the far corner of the net.
St Sebastian were subdued and looked disjointed and were unable to stitch a decent move.
Crossing over, St Sebastian put up a better display and called the shots against the rival citadel. They came close in reducing the margin in the initial period. Jaison Pereira scored the consolation goal late in the second half.
On Wednesday, Host Parish Youth, Nuvem humbled Uguem’s Rising Club, Sanguem 3-0. The highlight of the day was a brilliant brace by Mebin Coutinho while Stanley Pereira being the other scorer for the winners.
