MARGAO: A second half strike by Sandy Colaco helped Sporting Club of Davorlim pip Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda 1-0 and advance into the semi-finals of 17th All-Goa Dando Boys inter-village football tournament organized by Dando Boys Club, Benaulim at St John de Baptist ground, Benaulim, Friday. There was no score at the lemon break.
Davorlim had the lion’s share of exchanges and threatened the rival goal regularly. Meanwhile, Fr Agnelo kept on mounting pressure but their forwards were guilty of muffing easy chances.
Post resumption, Davorlim soon got the breakthrough after Sandy Colaco bulged the rival nylons from an ideal position.
Fr Agnlo remained undeterred and instead continued to fight their way to the end of the filed. They had a golden chance to neutralize the lead in the dying minutes but Davorlim goalkeeper Royston Miranda’s anticipation and quick reflexes denied Vincy Fernandes from scoring.
