RAIA: Davorlim SC got the better of St Rock YC, Majorda-Calata 6-4 via the tie-breaker and moved into the quarter-finals of the 50th Edition of Custodio Memorial football tournament, at Raia panchayat ground, on Saturday.
Irfan Lall and Lenny Vaz of Majorda missed chances to score in the sixth and tenth minutes respectively. On the other side, Agnelo Colaco’s power-backed shot flew over the Majorda cross bar in the 12th minute.
It was Sanju Trikonni of Davorlim who netted the first goal of the match with a power packed shot in the 43rd minute. However’s Beevan D’Mello equalised with a placement shot in the 50th minute for Davorlim.
In the tie-breaker, Davorlim SC netted through William Niasso, Delton Colaco, Milton Colaco, Averette Colaco and Darwin Colaco while Beevan D’Mello, Sheley Rodrigues and Irfan Lal found the net for St.Rock YC, Calata-Majorda.
Delton Colaco of Davorlim was awarded the man-of-the-match by Fr Michael Pereira of SVD seminary, Damon-Raia.
