SAO -JOSE DE AREAL: Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda shot-out Navelim Villagers Union 10-9 via the tie-breaker to enter into the quarter-finals of the Areal Panchayat inter-village football tournament played at Padribhat ground, on Friday.
Navelim’s Americo took a power-packed shot in the ninth minute which hit the Fatorda cross bar and went out of play. Fatorda’s Edgar Noronha’s left footer was blocked by Prestly Gomes. The match ended in a goalless draw at the end of regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda netted through Roque Borges, Ashley Andrade, Joylex Vaz, Charlton Pereira, Alfred Noronha, Royston Colaco, Danny Dias, Edgar Noronha, Cliff Baretto and Minguel Barretto while Mizio Peixito, Climax Lawrence, Prestly Gomes, Bosco Lobo, Aldred Fernandes, Joewin Costa, Velington D’Silva, Americo Rodrigues and Selwin Gomes found the net for Navelim Villagers Union. Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda will meet the winner of Raia SC and FC Siolim in the quarter-finals on October 5.
