MAPUSA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda moved into the semi-finals of the Vagator Soccer (UK Cup) with a hard fought 2-1 win over San Jose de Areal organised by Vagator PYSC, at Vagator Ozran ground, on Sunday.
In the 18th minute of play, Velton D’Souza moved from the right flank and sent a perfect floater to well positioned Neceil Pinto’s who controlled the ball and scored past Areal keeper Joseph Monterio to give his side the lead.
Seven minutes later, Fatorda levelled terms with Alston Camotio guiding the ball into the goal of a cross from Daryl Costa.
Once again, Necil Pinto scored to double his lead with an adroit placement past Areal keeper Joseph to make it 2-1.
Just before the breather, San Jose Areal saw a stiff strike by Cliff Barreto hit the upright.
In the closing stages of the match, Alson Oliveira lost a glorious chance to level terms as he failed to score from a goalmouth melee.
Neceil Pinto received the Man-of-the-Match award.
