NAGOA-VERNA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda edged past Sarzora SC 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Nagoa Village Panchyat Cup, organised by Pax of Nagoa SC, at Nagoa panchayat ground, on Tuesday.
In the second minute, Sarzora SC got a 18 yard free-kick which was taken by Aston Fernandes but his effort was saved by the Don Bosco goalkeeper.
Two minutes later, the Sarzora forward shot wide from close distance.
However, Aston amends to his missed shot in the 21st minute as he netted the first goal with a placement shot.
Four minutes later, Don Bosco’s Cliff Barretto’s shot flew inches off the target.
At half time the score board read 1-0 in favour of Sarzora SC.
In the second half , DBO coach Vincent Fernandes made changes to his side which changed the team’s fortunes.
Don Bosco entered the field with renewed ideas and with 2 substitutions.
In the 37th minute, a shot by Miguel Barretto beat the Sarzora keeper to level the scores.
Two minutes later, Melvan Furtado netted the match-winner with a placement shot.
Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda will now meet the winners of Sao Jose de Areal and CDJ Ribandar in the quarter-finals on April 23.
