FATORDA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda won by a narrow 1-0 win over Young Strikers Club in the U-14 GFA League match held at the Artificial turf, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
Don Bosco Oratory tormented Young Strikers defence with Sidney Dias and Micheal Dias.
Sidney and Michael missed sitters in the 9th and 13th minute respectively while Aaron Pereira missed a chance to score for Young strikers in the 15th minute.
Both the teams were locked in a goalless draw in the first half.
Post resumption, Zubeer Syed had a chance to score for Don Bosco from a free-kick but shot wide in the 43rd minute.
Don Bosco meanwhile split opened the Young Strikers Club defence and through Alinton Fernandes found the net in the 44th minute with his left footer shot into the rival net.
Down by a goal, Young Strikers regrouped and pressurised rival defence but Aaron simply couldn’t keep his composure in front of the rival goal that saw the lad miss two more chances late into the game.
