MARGAO: Don Bosco Oratory (DBO), Fatorda got the better of St Savio Sports Club, Calangute 2-0 to sail into the semi-finals of 41st HQ-NRB Bandodkar memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Baina Sports Club, at MPT ground, Vasco, on Monday. There was no score at half time.
Don Bosco Oratory dominated the game and pushed their opponents on the back-foot throughout. St Savio hardly had a chance to score as they were restricted to their own half.
Post resumption, Don Bosco Oratory continued to dictate terms and enjoyed total domination. They broke the deadlock when striker Christopher Borges picked up the ball from his own half and made a daunting run in the rival danger zone, then unleashing a stiff grounder.
Don Bosco Oratory kept on tormenting the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. Francis Andrade sealed victory with a powerful left-footed strike. Christopher was adjudged man-of-the-match.
