BETALBATIM: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda defeated Sao Jose de Areal 3-2 via the tie-breaker to clinch the late Joao Francisco Pacheco Trophy, organised by Betalbatim SC and played at Betalbatim Sports Complex on Sunday.
Areal had the first shot at the rival goal when David Colaco shot at the Don Bosco gaol but his effort was blocked by Agnelo Barretto.
At the other end, Don Bosco tried their luck through Francis Andrade, who on receiving the ball from Necel Pinto made his way into the rival box, but his effort was saved by Joseph Monteiro.
In the 39th minute, Rayman Fernandes of Areal connected a well measured pass to substitute Alvito Moura but failed to latter failed to find the rival net.
There was no score at the end of regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda netted through Francis Andrade, Cayven Araujo and Necel Pinto and for Sao Jose de Areal Aggio Antao and Fredak Andro scored.
The winners were awarded Rs 40,000 while the runners-up pocketed Rs 30,000.
Adv Radharao Gracias was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Nelly Rodrigues (ZP Member) and Viola Pacheco and other dignatries.
