Roque scores brace against Sai Avtar

Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda booked the last quarter-final berth in 37th Bandodkar memorial football tournament defeating Sai Avtar Sports Club, Anjuna by two second half goals scored by Roque Borges at MPT ground, here on Sunday.
Sai Avtar dominated the first 15 minutes with Saprem Divkar shooting over in the 12th minute and shooting wide two minutes later.
Avtar’s Saprem almost gave his team the lead in the 16th minute but Don Bosco Oratory keeper Agnel Furtado managed to fist it away.
In the 28th minute, Shekhar Kerkar of Sai Avtar missed to connect a fine cross from Sprem Divkar.
Don Bosco Oratory’s Francisco Andrade, Cliff Barreto and Roque Borges failed to find the target in the later part of the first half.
After change of ends, Don Bosco Oratory went all out and Roque Borges scored after Valente Silva and Wilson Dias had worked up in the 42nd minute.
Eight minutes from the final whistle Roque Borges made the issue safe for his team by completing his brace.
In the dying minutes, Sai Avtar had a chance to reduce the margin but Shekhar Kerkar blasted over a through pass from Saprem Divkar.
Referee Rohidas Bomkar flashed the caution card to Valente Silva of Don Bosco Oratory for dangerous tackle.
Roque Borges was handed over the man-of-the match award by Sankalp Amonkar, president, Youth Congress.
