FATORDA: DBO Lynx women, Siolim Basketeers and Assailants 12 claimed their first victories on the first day of ‘The CHALLENGE’ B Division all Goa Basketball League, at the Outdoor Basketball court of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, on Sunday.
The first women’s Match between DBO Lynx and DBO Hawks it was an easy win for DBO Lynx 33-8.
The first men’s match between DBO Chargers and Siolim Basketeers was well dominated by Siolim. Though Chargers put a good united defence, the long shots of Ravi (highest-scorer) kept the lead to win comfortably 39-21.
The third game of the day, between Sonics and Assailants 12 was a close bet. Sonics began with an early lead but Assailants caught up in the end of the third quarter, not to give up. They kept their nerve till Assailants won by a solitary point 28-27 to record their first victory of the league.
The League will be played every Sunday between 12 Goan teams.
