PANJIM: Deepak Bhanushali and Ankush Patel excelled at the all Goa non ranking, veterans and Mormugao veterans tournament organised by Chicalim Badminton Club in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association at Chicalim Indoor Complex, recently.
While Deepak showed his supremacy over Ayaan Shaikh in non ranking singles event, Ankush Patel edged Ashok Gautam in the veterans 35+ category.
The event comprised of 10 different events and was keenly contested by top badminton players of Goa across all age groups.
Some of the key star players were Karan Dhavaskar, Sanath Kamath, Sohan Naik, Siraj Wadkar, Yasmeen Sayyed, Yash Kunkalienkar, Deepak Bhanushali, Yash Desai, Kamlesh Kanji, Kunal Savordevekar, Kishore Raghubans, Sameer Sangodkar, Geetesh Danghi and Ashok Gautam.
In the non ranking men’s doubles, Sohan Naik and Siraj Wadkar defeated Shubham Naik and Prathamesh Naik.
In 35+ men’s doubles, Kamlesh Kanji and Kunal Savordevekar beat Amit Kakkar and Vishal Vernekar
In mixed doubles, Kamlesh Kanji and Supriya Pai Kuchlekar edged out Patrick Gonsalves and Betty Dourado.
Arnold Rodriguez and Kishore Raghubans won the 45+ men’s doubles event defeating Sameer Sangodkar and Geetesh Danghi. Pradeep Prabhu and Dhananjay Shirsat won the 50+ event beating Oscar Silvera and Leonel Fernandes.
Siraj Wadkar and Yasmeem Sayed won the mixed doubles event defeating Manish Pankhania and Saachi Dhavalikar.
Satish Kamble and Liju George won the 35+ men’s doubles event defeating Praveen Shenoy and Wilfred Fernandes.
In the 50+ men’s doubles, Rajesh Shirodkar and Vishnudutt Sharma downed Joe Dourado and Vinayak Moghe.
