MARGAO: Deepvihar Higher Secondary School, Headland Sada defeated Zone IV champs S S Angle Higher Secondary School, Mashem 3-0 to emerge champs of South District inter-higher secondary girls table-tennis tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth affairs, at indoor stadium, Fatorda, here, on Friday.
In the first singles, Kefia Rodrigues defeated Pivina by straight sets 11-7, 11-6, 11-7. Laxmi Shetye increased the lead of Deepvihar by defeating Shruti again in three sets 11-6, 12-10, 11-7. Bhakti Banaulikar then notched the third game win 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 over Sweety of Angle HSS. Carmel HSS, Nuvem bagged the third place.
