MAPUSA: St Anthony’s SC, Marna, registered a fluent 3-1 win over holders Assonora United FC in the Goveia Cup 2023, organised by YSC Colvale at Colvale church ground, on Wednesday
In the 12th minute, Sangam Pednekar scored with a deft placement putting St Anthony’s SC 1-0 ahead. In the 23rd minute, Dalesh Pednekar scored with a stiff grounder to double the lead 2-0.
St Anthony’s SC further took the lead and went 3-0 ahead with Dalesh scoring his brace in the 40th minute of play.
In the 46th minute, Sattyam Gawas reduced the margin for Assonora United FC with a smart snap shot (1-3).
Dalesh Pednekar of St Anthony’s SC received the man-of-the-match award from Ashwin Noronha.
