Dempo clash with Chirag

Defending champions Dempo will battle it out with Kolkata outfit Chirag United at Barasat Stadium, Kolkata  while Mohun Bagan will lock horns with Punjab outfit JCT at the Guru Nanak Dev stadium, Ludhiana also on Saturday.
Dempo placed sixth in the League standings had a miserable run in the League and have managed to pocket only 26 points from 18 matches and are 16 points behind the League leaders. Their hope of winning the league this time though may not come true but the Goan outfit will try hard to win their rest of the encounters and get into the top four.
In their last two encounters they have won only two while were held to draw by Air India, Vasco and lost to their Goan counterpart Sporting Clube de Goa.
Their opponent Chirag United had sent a shiver down the Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan as they kept their defenders at bay but were unlucky to find the net and went down fighting.
With 21 points in their pocket the Kolkata outfit are in the relegation zone and a defeat here would only add to their wounds as they are placed eleventh in the League standings. A victory here would take them to 24 points but that seems to be an impossible task.
As Dempo battles it out with Chirag United, Guru Nanak Dev Stadium, Ludhiana will witness Mohun Bagan battling it out with JCT. Mohun Bagan placed third in the League standings have played well and still have two matches in their hand. A victory here would take them closer to the league toppers and keeping in mind their form they would have no problems in pocketing three points from this encounter.
JCT on the other hand are placed tenth in the League standings and a loss here would mean that their danger of getting relegated would still persist.
