Swapnil Asnodkar produced a man-of-the-match performance with his bat to ensure Dempo Cricket Club a five wicket win over Sarvodaya Royal in Goa Premier League T20 match at GCA stadium, Alto Porvorim, on Friday.
Batting second, Swapnil’s brilliant 89 from 38 balls and Ilyar Naroo scoring 20 in 10 balls gave them a win in just 10.4 overs scoring 142 for 5.
Sarvodaya’s bowling section tried their level best to bring down the batting line up with Shailendra Srigar and Darshan Misal taking two wickets and Narayan Kambli claiming one. But a strong partnership of 82 runs between Swapnil and Ilyaas saved Dempo as five of their batsmen failed to cross double figures.
Earlier, Sarvodaya managed to score 141 for five in 20 overs. Rajesh Harikant (44), Robin D’Souza (37), Hemant Shetgaonkar (15), Aniket Dessai (15), Rohit Asnodkar (14) and Sumeet Chavan (13) were the top scorers.
In the bowling section, Harshad Gadekar claimed two wickets while Dinesh Naik, Shailesh Miskquin and Vipin Chauhan took a wicket each.
