MAPUSA: Dempo SC continued their winning streak as they humbled Vasco SC by 6-0 margin in the Goa Professional League, held at Duler stadium, here, on Thursday.
It was an easy outing for Golden Eagles as man-of-the-match awardee Arnold Oliveira struck a brace scoring in the 17th and 46th minute of the first session.
On crossing ends Golden Eagles pinned their opponents mostly inside their own territory to find Pratik Naik score in the 55th minute. Aaron Bareto made it 4-0.
In the last five minutes of the match substitutes Tongminsei Kipsen and Topan Minj pumped in two more goals to complete the rout 6-0.
Dempo’s Arnold received the award from the hands of Shekar Kerkar.
This win puts Dempo back on top of the table with 25 points from 12 games, sending a powerful message to their rivals. Vasco, meanwhile, remain stuck on 10 points from 11 games, their title hopes seemingly fading.
