PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club downed Sporting Clube de Goa 3-0 in the Goa Football Association U-14 League at Ella ground, on Friday.
The winners scored through Topon Mirj, Reniel D’Mello and Dalwin Coelho. Pradip Chodankar’s boys started and finished the game almost entirely in the opposition half with Topon Mirj giving the home side the breakthrough in the 20th minute.
He had a chance to add to his tally moments later as his header whizzed past the post just before the first half came to an end.
In the second half, the boys added to their tally through Nihar Naik, the defender finding himself in the right place at the right time after some clever play from Reniel Dmello.
The Eagles added a third just before the end when Dalwin Coelho volleyed in from close range to ensure the boys cruise to their 3rd win of the campaign.
Meanwhile in another match at Astro Turf ground, Salgaocar Football Club defeated Churchill Brothers FC 2-0.
Vismay More scored a brace for the winning team.
In the U-14 Second division league, A A de Majorda thumped Baina SC 6-0.
Brandon Fernandes scored a treble while Edwin Andrade bagged a brace. Alfonso Da Silva scored the other goal for the winners.
