PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club humbled Sporting Clube de Goa 4-0 in the North Goa derby match in the AIFF U-15 Youth League, played at Don Bosco football ground, on Thursday.
Dempo SC opened the goal scoring in the 13th minute when Stewart De Mello shot was deflected and went straight to Fedrick Fernandes who did no mistakes to finish to score the first for the Golden Eagles.
In the 39th minute, Dempo SC striker Fedrick Fernandes had his try straight in the rival keeper’s hands. Dempo SC dominated the midfield lead by Stewart, Deep Pednekar, and Sanford Colaco. Necio Fernandes powerful strike in the 45th minute was pushed away by the goalkeeper.
At lemon break Dempo SC lead 1 – 0.
Post resumption, Stewart got his first goal in the 72nd minute when his powerful grounder had no answers to the keeper.
Soon Stewart completed his brace when Valenco Rodrigues provided with a beautiful cross to Stewart who headed the ball to the far corner.
Dempo SC scored their final goal in the 82nd minute when Stewart Demello assisted Vieri Colaco who finished with an easy tap.
