PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club, Sesa FA and Goan FC recorded commanding wins in Goa Football Association U-16 League matches played on Monday.
While Dempo thumped Don Bosco Oratory 17-0 at Ella ground, Sesa FA eased past Goa Velha SC 6-2 at Sirsaim ground.
Playing on home turf, the Golden Eagles opened their scoring in the fifth minute through Shreyash Naik. Soon Jimmy Colaco doubled the lead in the ninth minute.
Don Bosco Oratory were nowhere in the match as they failed to match the opposition tactics. Dempo inflated the lead as Sherwin Abranches scored a brace in the 19th and 22nd minutes. Laston Barretto added his name to score list too and scored the club’s fifth goal.
Sherwin Abranches completed his hat-trick in 39th minute. Just before half time Ryan Dias scored a solo goal dribbling past two defenders to make it 8-0 in favour of Dempo SC.
Post resumption Ryan Dias scored his second goal in the 48th minute.
While Jimmy Colaco and Dwayen Nato registered braces, Velanco Rodrigues and Necio Fernandes scored a goal each.
In the 67th min Ryan Dias completed his hat-trick to take Dempo’s tally to 17-0.
At Sirsaim ground, Crespo D’Souza scored a fine hat-trick for Sesa while Aditya Talwar netted two as Sesa FA scored a convincing 6-2 win over Goa Velha.
Ranjit Tele netted the other goal for the winning side. Rohit Narvekar scored a double for the losing side. Sesa FA led 2-1 at the break.
Meanwhile, Goan FC came from behind to beat SAI Training Centre 2-1. Sahil I and Reyes Cruz scored for the winning side after SAI had taken the lead through Bindusar Chaudhary early in the first half.
