MARGAO, FEB 7
Despite being unable to register a win in the second leg, defending champions Dempo Sports Club are not too concerned.  Their chief coach Armando Colaco and the players seemed relaxed as they went through a light training session on the eve of their 14th round match against Vasco Sports Club in the ONGC I-league at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Sunday at 4 pm.
The defending champions lost 2-1 to JCT and drew 1-1 against Churchill Brothers. But on Sunday they are keen to put up an improved display to overcome the Vasco Club and turn their fortunes around.
To achieve their objective they plan to cut down mistakes. Colaco is praying that the twin force of Nigerian Striker Ranty Martins and Joaquin Abranches find their scoring touch. Both Ranty and Abranches missed a series of chances in the previous two matches.
Dempo are not ready to take things easy and have prepared for tomorrow encounter.
The Defending champions are also prepared for a win to lift their positions in the standing. Coach Colaco is determined that his team puts up a good performance and tries its best to maintain their dominance.
The boys have worked hard this season. But injury to some key players or fatigue has effected our progress in the league. But the players tend to give their best and perform exceptionally well against Vasco.
The draw against Churchill Bros have given the boys of plenty of confidence and I expect good showing from them.
Dempo currently on fifth place with 18 points from 13 matches Vasco coach Elvis Goes has worked hard on the team, defeating Sporting Clube de Goa and snatching a valuable point against JCT and is quit confident he can take the defending champions by surprise. There is a new confidence in the boys after their impressive performance in the Federations Cup. They know they can beat any team on their day if they play to their strength. For is it is a must win situation said Goes.
Playing Dempo is one of the best thing. They play a clean game we have done very well recently in the opening two matches of the second leg, Goes pointed out.
Goes will have the option fielding his best playing 11 as he is keen to record another triumph.
The Match holds a lot of significance for both the teams promise to provide plenty of spill and thrills.
