PANJIM: Denis Dias was elected unopposed as president of Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim for the third consecutive year at the annual general meeting on Sunday.
The new committee for the term 2014-16 are as follows: Chairman James Barretto, Vice Chairman Soloman Mendes, President Denis Dias, Vice President Viano Rodrigues, Secretary Viriato Mendes, Assistant Secretary Prince Pereira, Treasurer Francis Rodrigues, Assistant Treasurer Cliff Couthino, Sports Secretary Raju Cardozo, Assistant Sports Secretaries Peter Cardozo and Cristo Rodrigues, Cultural Secretary Shelton Rodrigues, Social Secretary Sukash Bandodkar, Auditors Rocha Fernandes and Caitano Caldeira, Legal Advisor Joe Gomes, Executive Members Severino Fernandes, Raymond Rebello, Oswin Mendes, Gawin Rodrigues, Timotio Afonso, Anthony Vaz, Anthony Rodrigues (Cula) and Agnelo Passanha.
Earlier, a minute silence was observed in the memory of Fr Druston and Wellington Rodrigues and their heirs and also condole the death of life members late Bernado Lobo and late Inacinho Rebello.
Vice chairman Solomon Mendes welcomed while President Denis Dias called the meeting to order.
General Secretary Viriato Mendes read the report while Treasurer Francis Rodrigues read the report of accounts.
Following personalities were felicitated: SSCE rankers of Holy Cross Institute Cavelossim Crizma Fernandes, Agnelo Gonsalves, Manisha Costa, Risban Gracias.
In the field of education Dr Socorro Mendes, culture Fr. Filipe Neri Mendes, sports Bakhita Afonso and social Service Valentina Gonsalves.
Francis Rodrigues and Anthony Vaz compered the function while James Barretto proposed the vote of thanks.
