Goa’s Derryl D’Souza and Vandana D’Cruz have been selected for Project Future coaches refresher course, match analysis and training observation of Asian Youth championship tournament to be held at Zibo, China from October 13-18. They will be attending the course as part of their continuing coach education under the AFC Project Future.
Mapusa-based, Vandana, has completed her Bachelor of Physical Education Degree (B P Ed) course at Don Bosco college, Panjim and has managed Sporting Clube de Goa women’s team earlier last season in the GFA League. She has completed her AFC ‘C’ Licence course in Colombo and was part of the U-19 Indian football team in 2001.
Derryl, who hails from Old Goa, is presently working as a coach with Brasil Futebol Academia and is associated with Sunshine Worldwide School, Old Goa. He is also a sports teacher (football) with Kendriya Vidhyalaya (Army school) Bambolim camp. He is also involved as a coach in the GFA Youth Development Programme, which is currently merged with the Australian Sports Council for grassroot development programme with the GFA.
Derryl has completed his ‘C’ Licence course in Iran and has passed the ‘Premier Skills Course’ in association with the British Council, SAI (Sports Authority of India), GFA and AIFF in Kolkata.
Derryl and Vandana were selected in 2009 at Kuala Lumpur on basis of their performance at theoretical and practical examinations conducted by AFC where participants from all across Asia took part.
