PANJIM, Oct 7
A minor detonation occurred at a BSNL chamber on the 18 June road today late evening causing damage to a parked vehicle. The blast was so loud that it was heard even beyond 200 meters.
Maruti Zen bearing registration number GA-05-2388, which was parked near the chamber was damaged.
No casualties were reported even as it triggered brief commotion among residents and the passers-by.
Owner of the car Wency D’Souza told Panjim police that he was at an ATM counter to withdraw money when the incident occurred at about 8:30pm.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called upon to examine the scene.
