Devendra lifts PSPB billiards title

Devendra Joshi (BPCL) was in great touch when he overcame former world
billiards champion Pankaj Advani (ONGC) 3-2 to lift the PSPB billiards crown at indoor stadium, Campal, Panjim on Thursday.
Both players came up with century breaks one after the other to enthrall the Goan spectators with some scintillating display of World class billiards and super ball control. Locked at two games a piece, it was Devendra who triumphed in the end with an unfinished break to take the final frame and the title of the ranking billiards event.
Saurav Kothari beat Shahbaaz Khan 2-0 to take the third spot in billiards.
In the billiards team championship, IOC beat fancied BPCL and OIL beat GAIL.

Billiards team championship results: IOC beat BPCL (Aditya Mehta (IOC) 200 beat Manan Chandra (BPCL) 116, Devendra Joshi (BPCL) beat Arif Akhtar (IOC) 200 – 188, Shahbaaz Khan (BPCL) lost to Dhwaj Haria (IOC).
ONGC beat OIL (Dhruv Sitwala (ONGC) 200 (84-79) – P Bhagwati (OIL) 09, Rupesh Shah (ONGC) beat J Chetia (OIL) 200 – 23).
Snooker team championship results: IOC beat OIL (4 -0) Rishab Pandya (IOC) beat J Chetia (OIL) 2-0, Dhwaj Haria (IOC) beat J K Malakar (2-0). GAIL beat MRPL (4-0) Rahul Pateria (GAIL) beat Malatesh (GAIL) 2-0, Rachit Madan (GAIL) beat Naveen Shetty (2-0).
