RAIA: Dhadsakal Stars defeated Chowgule Global by 5 wickets in a high scoring final to emerge champions in the Goyanchi League T-20 leather ball cricket tournament organised by Sanguem Cricketers at Sanguem Cricket Academy ground, on Saturday.
The winners were richer by Rs 2.5 lakh and trophy, while Chowgule Global had to be content with Rs 1.5 lakh plus trophy. Social Welfare Minister Subhash Faldessai was chief guest and handed over the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
Brief score: Chowgule Global, 215-5 in 20 overs (Ayush Vartak 68, Chrag Jani 56*, Drumil Matkar 32. Parth Rekhade 2-43, Prasad Patil & Harshad Chelwani 1 wkt each) lost to Dhadsakal Stars, 219-4 in 17.1 aovers (Puneet Mishra 86, Aryan Narvekar 54*, Azaan Thota 30. Chirag Jani 2-21).
Individual prizes: Man of the final, Man of the tournament and best batsman – Puneet Mishra (Dhadsakal Stars); best Bowler – Heramb Parab (D&M Avengers).
