MAPUSA: Dheeraj Rai will meet Shantesh Mapsekar in Men’s singles final of the Rotary Geno All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament organised by Rotary Club of Mapusa in collaboration with Goa Table Tennis Association & SAG, at TT Hall, Peddem Sports complex.
Both Dheeraj and Shantesh had to face stiff resistance from their opponents in their respective semi-final matches.
Young sub junior paddler Shantesh Mapsekar, a highly ranked India player in cadets last season, outclassed former State champion Diljeet Velingkar 4-2 to become one of the youngest finalist in the men’s ranking section while Dheeraj Rai was made to work hard before prevailing 4-2 over Manish Yadav.
Shantesh, who had reached the sub junior boys finals earlier is poised for a double crown.
