Dhempe beat DMC

PANJIM: Dhempe College, Miramar beat DM's College, Assagao by 24 runs in the inter-collegiate cricket championship for men organized by Goa University.

PANJIM: Dhempe College, Miramar beat DM’s College, Assagao by 24 runs in the inter-collegiate cricket championship for men organized by Goa University.
DM’s college won the toss and put Dhempe in the crease.  Dhempe were bowled out for 123 runs in 19.5 overs. Shivprasad Purohit 49, Nutan Naik 22 and Nazul Miya 13 contributed with the bat. For DM’s Palash Raikar 3/20 and Nikesh Panjikar 1/16 were the chief bowlers.
In reply DM’s could manage only 99 in 19.1 overs. Palash Raikar 25 and Nikesh Panjikar 16, batted well. Whereas Shiprasad Purohit 5/20, Anvay Naik 2/5 and Diplesh Bhagat 2/20 trampled over the opposition to give victory to Dhempe with their bowling efforts.
In the second match S Caculo, Mapusa overcame a spirited Rosary College, Navelim by 2 runs. Batting first Caculo college scored 153/9 in 20 overs. Prathamesh Gawas 73 and Achit Shigwan 37 were the main contributors.
Hrishikesh Naik 3/15 and Tousief Shaikh 3/17 were the top bowlers for Rosary’s. In chasing 153, Rosary scored 151/8 in 20 overs with Tausief Shaikh 78 and Hanslum Furtado 18 batting with determination. For Caculo’s  Siddesh Govekar 2/19 and  Vikesh Patil 1/13 were the chief bowlers.
